This past Sunday we talked about the power of the tongue and words. Over the course of the next few months, I want to concentrate on ‘School Life’; presenting the H20 Kids with lessons that will directly relate to their life at school. I went ‘old school’ in terms of an object lesson this past Sunday. I had a kid come up and squeeze all of the toothpaste out of a tube and then asked him to put it back (he tried!), we he couldn’t I compared this situation to our speech. Unfortunately, I had to leave suddenly as kids came down for prayer since my son Hudson cut his lip pretty bad and Melissa felt he need to be rushed the ER; fortunately he is OK now.

The Puddle Jumpers learned about Adam and Eve this past Sunday. One little girl told her parents she learned about Adam and Steve! This next week the PJs will began learning about Noah’s ark.

It’s been too long since I’ve updated the H20 blog! Please forgive me!

This Sunday will be the last lesson of the “10 Rocks of Truth”. I love doing series’ in Kids Church, but I’m always ready for them to be over. In the following Sundays I want to focus on ‘School Life’, I don’t know if I will make it an official lesson series or not. I want the H20 kids to be able to apply the truth of God’s Word to their everyday life. I hope to refer back to the 10 Rocks of Truth constantly.

Puddle Jumpers is rocking like always! This week they will continue their journey through the first part of Genesis. They will learn how God created man and woman; giving them dominion over the earth.

Don’t forget to put October 28th on your calendar for our annual Fall Festival!

 This past Sunday the Puddle Jumpers’ lesson was from Acts 12:1-18 where Peter is jailed and then rescued. This Sunday will be the PJ’s last lesson from the New Testament (“Paul Helps a Lame Man” Acts 14:8-20) before moving on the Old Testament again.

In H20 Kids Church we discussed our 3rd Rock of Truth: People willingly fell into sin which  brought about evil and death (physical and spiritual) into the world. The color of this rock in black/gray to represent sin. I concentrated on the story of Adam and Eve to illustrate how the curse of sin and death entered our world. However, I also explained the truth that when Jesus died on the cross, he broke the curse of sin and death.

This 3rd Rock of Truth is very important in building a sound Biblical Worldview in children. When children have questions about why there is evil in the world or why God allows bad things to happen…this truth is the answer.

H20 Kids church finished their second lesson in the:

We Believe:

1. The Bible is inspired by God.

2. There is only one true God revealed in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus:100% Man and God) and God the Holy Spirit.

3. People willingly fell into sin which  brought about evil and death (physical and spiritual) into the world

4. Anyone can become a Born-Again Christian.  God loves everyone and all people have a chance to receive Jesus Christ as Savior.

5. We Believe in and Practice 2 Ordinances: Water Baptism and Holy Communion.

6. The Holy Spirit gives us power for living a Christian life including power in prayer and in resisting temptation. 

7. Christians have a Mission To lead people to God by example and proclamation. Every Christian is a part of the Body of Christ. 

8. Divine Healing is a privilege for Christians Healing of the sick happens today and Christians should always prayer for the sick. 

9. Jesus is going to come back for Christians 

10. There will be a Final Judgment Day and God is preparing a place for us called HEAVEN!

Parents! Be sure to go over this info with your kids! Next Sunday we will began the 3rd rock of truth.

This past Sunday the Puddle Jumpers learned about when the apostle Peter helped Dorcas in Acts 9:32-43.  The pj computer crashed so the the powerpoint was not used but should be ready for this next Sunday.

Hello! Summer is here, school is almost out and Newspring is about to sell our property and start building a bigger and better facility! This is going to be a very challenging and exciting summer.

This past Sunday the Puddle Jumpers learned about Phillip and the Ethiopian (Acts 8:26-40). The things that stuck in my little girls mind was the ‘horses’, but I used that as a good stepping stone to review the story with her about how it’s important to be able to help people understand what the Bible says.  This story is also a good way to introduce the concept of Baptism to your preschooler.

In H20 Kids church we discussed the “Story Behind the Most Popular Verse in the Bible” which of course is the story of Nicodemus coming to Jesus at night.  Jesus explains to Nick what being ‘born again’ is.  In H20 we focused on the fact that it’s not physical but spiritual; you can’t see it but you can see the evidences of it (ie: wind). We also discussed the fact that it’s not enough to just beleive that Jesus did miracles and is truly from God, there has to be salvation (which was also explained again).

This past Sunday in Puddle Jumpers, the kids learned about Barnabas and how he shared. 

This lesson is a good opportunity to began teaching preschoolers the importance of tithes and offering to the church.

In H20, I opened up a question time (last week we talked about obeying our parents) which is something I do on occasion. The questions can only be about God, the Bible and anything related to spiritual things. Most of the questions are about God, Angels and the devil. It’s a very interested time; I’d like to film or record it to let parents see how good some of the questions are.

In June I will began a new Kids Church series called: “The 10 Rocks of Truth”  This series will lead children though a journey of what Christians believe and why. I will be cover basic Chrisitain doctrines and present them in a way the H20 kids will understand and remember.  I recently realized that I have taken my Bible College education for granted.  Many Christian adults cannot articulate what the believe as Christians (and when they can, many times it’s very wrong) and  so I’ve decided that this 10 week series will be something I do every year. This past Sunday, the H20 Kids (age 5.5 to 12) learned the importance of pleasing God and not people.  This was illustrated through a story about a father and son who are on their way to town to sell a horse:

The point is the we can’t please everyone and shouldn’t even try (I told them that this doesn’t mean they don’t have to try to please thier parents!!) The BIble Verse for this lesson was:

 Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God?

Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men,

I would not be a servant of Christ.

Galatians 1:10 NIV

In Puddle Jumpers (3 and potty trained to 5.5/6years old), the kids learned about Jesus ascending to heaven after his resurrection. The thing that seems to stick out most in my little girl’s mind was that:

1. Jesus floated up to heaven

2. but his spirit is still here and

3. two angels showed up after Jesus was out of sight.
